Instant Theatre Berlin presents a new course format focused on character and script work. In this course we will be focusing on building a coherent and holistic character, centered in the character’s reality (on stage as well as off stage). This includes becoming aware of the character’s relationships to other characters, relationship to the world around him, and relationship to self. We will do exercises focused on physicality to center and connect, mental exercises to clarify, and explore the emotional realms to deepen. We will learn how to utilize and analyze the script, in order to find clues about the character’s internal and external personality, his way of speaking and moving, his inner need/truth, motivation for action, and overall objectives/intentions. This course is virtually open to all levels but some previous experience is preferred! If you are 100% new to acting, please refer to the First Steps in Acting course instead.
TRAINER:
Ariane Fuchs, half German half American, has a BA in Theatre/Performance from University of Hawai’i and a MSc in Dance/Movement Psychotherapy from QMU Edinburgh. She is also a trained bodyworker and language teacher. Combining all these skills as an acting coach her main focus is on the authentic, personalized, expressive integration of body, mind and voice.
