Instant Theatre Berlin is proud to present its acclaimed Intro to Acting weekend workshop! The course is taught in English, and it’s aimed at discovering the basics of acting and stage language. This format is addressed to beginners but it can be useful to anyone who’s interested in experimenting further with acting and being on stage. The course can serve as an introduction to our regular 2-month courses taught over the year in Berlin. In this intensive 2-day program we’ll explore the basics of acting in a relaxed and playful way. We will play games and scenes on stage, we’ll work on short scenes and texts, we’ll make our first steps toward the creation of some theatrical material together with the group.
The course will take place in Berlin at our venue 800A, INDOORS, on Saturday & Sunday, July 3-4, 2021. The times will vary for the 2 days.
REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN FOLLOWING THE CURRENT HEALTH REGULATIONS:
– Proof of negative Corona Test or equivalent certification.
SCHEDULE
SATURDAY JULY 3, 2021. 10am-12.30pm with a break.
Introductory session. What is acting, warm-up, group work, stage basics, partner work on stage.
SUNDAY JULY 4, 2021. 10am-3pm with a break.
Warm-up, group and individual work, focus on applied acting concepts, scripted scene work on stage with a partner. If participants wish, on Day 2 we will film the final take of our scenes or monologues, so you can watch the result of your work at home!
MAX 10 PARTICIPANTS! NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
You’ll be asked to memorize a short text of your choice ahead of the workshop.
Even though this course is “just” introductory, over the 2 days of activities you will discover how creative and liberating acting can be, and you will have the opportunity to get “stage time” and identify your strong points as an actor, knowing how you can improve in the future. As for any acting-related activity, you will discover something new about yourself and your potential.

Alex Casadio, acting trainer and founder of Instant Theatre Berlin. A trained actor and musician born in Bologna, Italy, over the years he worked with hundreds of actors, students and professionals. He’s constantly refining his own teaching method focused on acting as a natural behaviour. Alex founded Instant Theatre Berlin in 2013 and he’s active as a trainer, theatre director and performer in the Berlin scene.
