Using the ancient craft of shadow puppetry, this workshop will inspire children to explore their art of story telling from creating exciting fantasy characters to starring in a shadow play with puppets of their own design. The activities will be conducted in English!

At the end of the workshop we’ll present a showcase of our work in front of parents and families!

The Drama and Shadow Puppet workshop will be taught by children’s theatre director Illya Sumanto.

TRAINER

Illya Sumanto

lllya Sumanto comes from Malaysia. She specialises working with young writers and theatre performers, stage-crafting and writing for numerous school productions. Her work as a director and scriptwriter for children’s theatre has been acknowledged by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. She has also received a special award from the University of Malaya for her achievements and contributions to the field of Education.
