Improvisational Comedy: Play to Live, Live to Play with Brian Kapell

Improvisational Comedy: Play to Live, Live to Play with Brian Kapell

April 28 – June 16, Sundays (4.30 pm-7 pm)

Brian Kapell- Improv comedy workshop

Brian Kapell, co-founder of ComedySportz

Learn how to live a funnier, funnier life by playing Improvisational Comedy in a relaxed and supportive space. In this 8-week class we focus on developing trust in yourself and others, story-telling and structure, building an improv vocabulary and teamwork. Become more expressive, confident, and positively playful, as you learn the concepts of improvisation and apply them to the games of short-form improvisation: how to build a story, how to develop character, use of space and pantomime, finding the ‘game’ of a scene, developing a group-mind, playing with status, making spontaneous choices, taking risks and having fun. At the end of the 8-week session, students will perform a show for an invited audience of friends. Meets once a week for 2 1/2 hours per session!
