Intermediate Acting course focused on Monologues and Character Creation
Instant Theatre Berlin presents a new Level 2 intermediate course. In this course, we will focus on Character Creation. We will explore several techniques to create characters, and we’ll expand on our characters every week through collective and individual exercises on stage. At the same time, we will select Monologues for our characters to perform, and we will deepen our understanding of monologues and why performing a monologue is one of the most important skills for actors.
Our final show will consist in a montage of monologues and collective sequences and scenes that we will build up at our sessions. There will be a common thread through the show, so it will be perceived as a “one piece” rather than a montage.

Occasionally we allow new external students to join the intermediate classes and complete the group. This only happens after you contact us and tell us about your previous experience. Often times, even if you have some previous experiences, you will be redirected to our Introductory First Steps in Acting class.

Intermediate Acting course - from November 6, 2023.
TRAINER
Alex Casadio, theatre instructor and founder of Instant Theatre Berlin. He’s active as an acting trainer, theatre director and performer in the Berlin scene. Alex founded Instant Theatre Berlin in 2013 and co-founded the venue 800A Berlin in 2017. In Berlin he also created the independent troupe The Actors Circle in 2019.
This course is ideal for people who:

- WANT TO LEARN TO ACT, SPEAK AND REACT AUTHENTICALLY ON STAGE
- WANT TO REFINE THE BASICS OF ACTING IN AN INSPIRING ATMOSPHERE
- WANT TO GET RID OF SHYNESS AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES FULLY
- WANT TO PERFORM ON STAGE IN BERLIN AS PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL GROUP
No. This program is directed to people with some previous acting experience.
The best thing for you is to get in contact and tell us about your previous experience. If you’ve already performed IN ENGLISH in public as an actress in a play or a theatre production in the past, you might be eligible for our Level 2 course. Otherwise our introductory course will be probably the best match for you. Please use the CONTACT FORM.
NO. The program is only 8-week long, hence we need to use our time from the very beginning for our program. If you are not sure about joining, you can navigate our website to watch some TESTIMONIALS and get more info about what we do, or watch videos on our YOUTUBE CHANNEL! You can also come by at our venue in Berlin Wedding and see some of our shows. In short: we’ll bring the quality and the expertise, but you will have bring the commitment from the start to the end of the project.
After the last session of our course, we’ll host a public presentation of our work to a selected audience of friends and families. This will give you the opportunity to shine on stage and to put yourself to the test in a public performance. Afterwards, you can communicate with the teacher to see if you’re eligible for follow-up courses or to join our regular Acting Troupe!
Most of the times YES, if you are a teenager. But your parent or
guardian MUST get in contact with us before and inform us of your
willingness to join. We might ask you to sign an agreement form. In
general, our classes are meant for adults, 18+ years old.
8 Weekly meetings + Final performance
Project duration: 8 weeks, 1 weekly meeting of 2+ Hours and a final public show.
MONDAYS, from November 6 to December 18. Sessions time: 7-9 PM.
Final performance: On Monday January 8 at 8 pm. The show usually happens at our performance venue 800A in Berlin.
