A snapshot from last year: “Switch off your brain 2016”

Second edition for this successful Instant Theatre Berlin’s format!! A new 10-week acting project for a group to develop an original theatre performance. Focus of the work: quality of stage interactions, how to bring authentic life on stage and performance building.

In everyday life, we are trapped in our heads and our brain produces a constant stream of rational and irrational thoughts. How can we be creative, how can we be relaxed, how can we enjoy the acting process, how can we be honest on stage while all these never-ending thoughts are running through our heads?

In this workshop, we will focus on the sensitivity of our bodies in order to get far away from our daily habits. We will work from the mindfulness of the body in order to find the source of our movement. Through our training, we will find new ways of communication and action on stage.

Most part of our sessions will be dedicated from the very beginning to develop an original theatre performance using devising theatre techniques, improvisation on stage and collective work.

This course is aimed at people with little previous experience in acting or any related field (music/dance/performance/any other relevant discipline). We will use our background and our personality as a creative element for the assembling of our performance.

The show will end in a public performance on Saturday, March 25, 2017.

MAIN TRAINER: Marcelina Bożek, theatre instructor, actress, cultural manager.
During the course, other trainers and guests will be invited to attend single sessions in order to co-lead or to give feedback about the work.
