Instant Theatre Berlin‘s popular performance-oriented format enters its 4th edition!!! A new 10-week acting project for a group to develop an original theatre performance. Focus of the work: how to bring authentic life on stage, the quality of stage interactions and the creation of an original performance.
In everyday life, we are trapped in our heads and our brain produces a constant stream of rational and irrational thoughts. How can we be creative, how can we be relaxed, how can we enjoy the acting process, how can we be honest on stage while all these never-ending thoughts are running through our heads?
In this workshop, we will focus on the sensitivity of our bodies in order to get far away from our daily habits. We will work from the mindfulness of the body in order to find the source of our movement. Through our training, we will find new ways of communication and action on stage.
Most part of our sessions will be dedicated from the very beginning to develop an original theatre performance using devising theatre techniques, improvisation on stage and collective work.
This course is aimed at people with some previous experience in acting or any related field (music/dance/performance/any other relevant discipline. High-school theatre and similar experiences are also OK, it’s just better if you are not an absolute beginner. If you are a beginner, please refer to the First Steps in acting course instead). The reason for this is, this course is 100% focused to create a collective piece of work to be presented on stage. We will use our background, our stories and our personalities as a creative element for our performance.
This year we want to bring the performative experience of the group to the next level: our performance will be played in front of an audience for 3 nights at the end of the course between December 2018 and January 2019!!! You will have the possibility to be on stage for 3 shows, just like a regular company. We strongly believe this experience will be very powerful for all of us.
